LeleKai
A festival for the next generation. Hybrid cinema, adjacent to Cannes. We teach kids to use AI as a film camera. Then we put what they make on a stage.
A movie is not just a patchwork of data. It’s a personal vision.Iris Knobloch · Festival de Cannes · April 9, 2026
The room a generation grew up in is changing. We are building the next one.
Across Europe, social platforms are being closed to under-15s. A daily place where teenagers gathered, learned, and made things is no longer where they live.
Europe · 2025–2027Major festivals ruled that films generated end-to-end by AI compete in their own category, not the main one. The kids who learned these tools needed a different room.
Festival de Cannes · April 2026
A festival, first. A school network behind it. Teachers in the room, tools on the table, films at the end of the year. The work meets a real stage.
LeleKai · A Festival of Hybrid Cinema“A movie is not just a patchwork of data. It’s a personal vision.”
We agree. We also notice that two weeks after Knobloch said it, France passed a law keeping fifteen-year-olds off Instagram. Both moves are right. Both moves leave a hole. We fill it with a school, a stage, and a country.
